A bay horse has a
coat of a shadow body is brown with black legs, mane and tail. Within
the bay group, there are bays blood, berries dark red-brown and shiny
appearance that can be golden. There are also black berries, which may occur to most people as a
black horse. Really the
black horses are a rare color. Most horses that you think might look black are black bays, which is a very dark brown. You will see lighter
colored hair between the hind legs and abdominal area and around the muzzle. This makes them black berries instead of
black horse. People call this
seal brown.
